effect: During your opponent's Main Phase, you can send this card from your hand to the Graveyard to select 1 face-up Effect Monster your opponent controls. Negate the effect(s) of that monster until the End Phase.

first things first lets clear this up. Its a girl, a young, flat chested girl, not another honest (as in, a card that should have been made as a girl). So stop calling it a dude

secondly, why is this card so special ?

well, lets read its effect. On your opponent's main phase, discard it to negate a monster effect controlled by the opponent. Doesn't sound like much, but if one took a closer look at almost all decks, one would realize that most of their effect monsters, have effects which activate on their turn, before their battle phase. a commonly used example would be tour guide from the underworld, which searches out any lv 3 fiend from your deck, mainly sangan. The rest are effects meant to do crippling damage to an opponent. example, judgment dragon, who, cleans up fields. This card saves you from both,, either disrupting searcher effects, or saving you from game changing/ending effects.

But what about if your opponent doesn't have a deck along those lines. Gladiator beats, Flamvell decks, Jurracs, and even counter fairies dont have much cards that work on such effects. In that case, remember it is also a lv 1 tuner monster, allowing it to be usable for synchro summons whenever needed. And remember, it negates effects until the end of the turn; hence it can be used in advance to negate effects that activate in the battle phase as well. These qualities make it ideal material for the main deck or side deck; choice is optional.

SO if you are one of those people who hate searcher decks, this is another card for you. And remember, its a girl >.<

i detest veiler

I love effect veiler, just wished it was a fairy instead of a spellcaster

Veiler is a PRO card, stops every kind of bullshits, + with backrow hate you run that more than your trap cards + it's light monster, easy access to chaos sorcer, BLS those kind of things...
It's a really great card..!

chaos is the most retarded deck ever ... the only deck veiler stops in this format its chaos, i hate veiler cuz it stops my first/second turn trish ... as for the rest, it sucks :/

Veiler is pretty much a staple @ 2 for almost any deck this format dc. Lol

its not staple, it fits in some decks that i somewhat call random, in named decks it doesn't fit and
@ norton : i run bws and did a 115-10 streak, veilers there were pretty much a , unwise card ... i prefer the usual d-c style bw built, no veiler, no dark creator, no grepher, no monk, no armageddon, go gorz ...

I would say the opposite. There are a few decks where it doesn't need Veiler and probably work better without her, but the vast majority you need her. Whirlwind Bw don't really need Veiler, I'm with you there, I like Whirlwind better than Graveyard BW. Even then it should probably be sided in this effect heavy and low trap format

in the whirl bws i have veiler at 2 in side and main only 1 TKR, second tkr in side + bls in side too ... as for main yea it doesn't need it
