Hysteric Sexy Chicks

Playing on Dueling Network has a lot of down sides but one thing we can’t reproach them is to keep the card data base updated. We recently got the new Harpies support and at 1st I was really surprise to see those cards. Who would have ever thought that Harpies would have been playable one day? Don’t get your expectations too high though, they have nothing so big like a Garunix, a Grapha or a Master Hyperion but you can finally pull out some interesting combos with them.

Harpie Channeler



You can discard 1 "Harpie" card, except "Harpie's Brother"; Special Summon 1 "Harpie" monster from your Deck, except "Harpie Channeler" or "Harpie's Brother". You can only use this effect of "Harpie Channeler" once per turn. If you control a Dragon-Type monster, this card's Level becomes 7. This card's name is treated as "Harpie Lady" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard.

It was about time Harpies get something like this. “This card's name is treated as "Harpie Lady" while it is on the field or in the Graveyard” is a very important thing for Harpies Hunting Ground and this monster fills the graveyard pretty quickly for Hysteric Party. “If you control a Dragon-Type monster, this card's Level becomes 7” means that Harpie Channeler + Harpies Pet Dragon = The Big Eye or any other rank 7 XYZ.

Hysteric Sign



When this card is activated: Add 1 "Elegant Egotist" from your Deck or Graveyard to your hand. During the End Phase, if this card was destroyed this turn: Add 3 "Harpie" cards with different names from your Deck to your hand, except "Harpie's Brother". You can only activate an effect of "Hysteric Sign" once per turn.

This card is great. You probably don’t see it in the picture but this card is a continuous spell and this is what makes it broken. You actually don’t have to wait for your opponent to destroy it to get that plus 3, You can destroy it yourself summoning a “Harpie Lady” while you control Harpies Hunting Ground or use it as the second target of Icarus attack during your opponent’s turn and start your turn with a combo hand (with harpie channeler).

These 2 cards basicly add 2 important things to Harpies, combos and hand recovery. The Harpies game play is very simple. Harpie Channeler creates combos and fills your graveyard with harpies monsters, Hysteric Sign makes the deck more aggressive and can also refill your hand when you deplete it for a big push and Hysteric Party is your late game wining condition.

Besides these 2 add-ons Harpies gets a Harpies Pet Dragon XYZ but they also have acces to a rank 4 XYZ monster with a great effect.

When this card is Xyz Summoned: Target 1 Set card your opponent controls; return it to the bottom of the Deck. Once per turn: You can detach 1 Xyz Material from this card to target 1 face-up card your opponent controls; return it to the top of the Deck.


If you wana try something new and fun you will probably like this deck. If you want to play a new broken as hell deck this is definitely not for you. Harpies still need something more broken to be competitive, something like a real big ass Harpie Dragon with a broken effect. I don’t know if one day we will see that monster but for now you can still have fun playing randoms or friends with this deck. If you want to try the deck there is 2 or 3 builds running around. The most popular are probably Harpie Simorgh and Rabbit Harpie. Here is the build I made with Vongonla-x if you wana try it.

We didn’t work a lot on it though, Vongola gave me his build and after 2 mirror match duels and some techs discussions this is how it looks like. The best Combo I pulled out with this deck was Shock Master and Photon Bounzer which is pretty good.

Yes the archtype is still young, I really hope we will see a badass Harpie Dragon soon. Harpies getting support is a good thing tho, Like UchihaShisui said Konami did not forget bout them, we might see other old archtypes getting more support in the future

Like Alice mentioned, the deck is getting a lot of hype these days. It has potential, we'll see once it comes to the TCG world, I'll probably not play it till then. Never the less good job with the article.

They may even become top tier.

i'm just saying but harpys will maybe be tier 2 the only deck that can make a come back till the next bannlist is BW (THAT is in ocg)

but i like that they made some fun cards to see^^

i played a guy that used harpy lady sisters for rank 6 xyz bounzer and that stellar dragon or what is it

It's bad if you run the regular version of just harpies, since channelar can't abuse it's effect by it, but it's decent also. I would definitely run Harpie's pet dragon over it though since you can get instant big eye/ ^^

I just didn't put any picture because I didn't tought it was worht it and besides that, there is actualy some discussions on the translation of the card. Some people says that DN got it wrong and you will need 3 materials instead of 2 to summon it.

Now about Harpy Lady sister, the card is not that bad. You might need that extra ATK for an otk and like I mentioned in the article and Darkeric Mentioned it too, you can always use them for a bounzer or any other rank 6 XYZ. The card is not a must in the deck tho

This makes me believe that there is hope left for yugioh
