If you could give me any suggestions that would be sweet, I just beat a Lightsworn deck with it using a direct attack by Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat. I used Crystal Abundance to wipe out the field, special summoned Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth, used Crystal Blessing to place Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle and Crystal Beast Emerald Turtle in S/T, used another blessing to place Cobalt Eagle and Topaz Tiger in S/T, used Crystal Promise to S.S. Ruby Carbuncle and get Emerald Turtle, Cobalt Eagle and Topaz Tiger on the field, it got his L.P. down low but he summoned a Chaos Sorcerer and I finished it with Amethyst Cat which I drew the next turn.
I'm sorry to start the post negatively , but having both played a succesful tournament-level crystal beast deck, and having dueled against(and been) many noob crystal decks, only noobs use more than 4 traps in a crystal beast deck. While it is true that crystal's have a ton of good trap support, they slow down your deck so much, and the spell support for crystals are flat-out phenomenal. In fact, I'd say the number one crystal noob mistake is using a ton of traps. If you don't beleive me, try moving all of your traps to your side deck for one tournament. When I did that, my average win-loss ratio went from 1-9 to 5-5. You may not have quite so drastic results, but believe me, it helps SO much. Keeping that in mind, there are one or two traps that are great for crystal beasts:
*judgment of anubis - this card is awesome, if very rare. When your opponent tries to destroy one of your crystal beasts in your spell and trap zone, you can not just negate that effect, but you then get to destroy one of your opponents monsters, and inflict damage equal to its attack. I ALWAYS recommend side-decking this, if you ever get your hands on it.
*Mirror Force - You already know why this card is awesome and a staple. While I personally don't run it all, you can main deck if you want.
*Crystal Pair - main deck one of these.
*Rainbow path - same as crystal pair.
Here is the deck i currently run. Keep in mind, this is nothing at all like a cookie cutter:
Monsters:
2* ruby carbuncle
2* cobalt eagle(i sometimes run three, if I think I'm going to need to re-summon saphire even faster than usual)
3* sapphire pegasus
2* amber mammoth
1* emerald tortoise(I only run one because I have 5-10 cards in my deck that can pull it from my deck/graveyard, so I don't need more than that to summon a rainbow dragon at least once every other game)
2* Topaz tiger (I really should be running 3, but I prefer having the smallest deck size possible
2* amethyst cat
2* rainbow dragon(I know that sound like it makes for a scary number of dead draws, but I almost always get to the point where I am drawing 2-3 cards a turn by the 4th or 5th turn)
1* hamon
1* summoner of illusions (this card is great for making bluffs. I can't tell you how satisfying to have a spectator arrive half way through a duel, and say, "What the heck are you running kid?! You have 2 rainbow dragons and a blue eyes ultamite dragon on the feild, and the match was only supposed to have started 5 minutes ago")
2* kuraz the light monarch (putting your crystal beasts into the spell&trap zone and getting you up to 2 free draws at the same time. Kuraz and crystal beasts are a match made in heaven)
1* jinzo (since you aren't running many traps, this card is awesome for shutting down your opponents combo's)
I also run 1 of the frost monarch, because I usually have 9-10 cards on the feild by the 7th or 8th turn, in order to make more room.
Spell
2*emergency provisions (this card will save your @ss so many times, giving you up to 4000 life points for each e. prov)
3* crystal blessing
3* crystal beacon
1* swords of revealing light (this card saves me almost as much as the two e. prov's)
2* crystal abundance (I've gotten so many otk's off of this card, summoning 3 sapph's, and then my two rainbow's)
1* brain control (not nessescary, but I love this card to death, so I always run it in just about every deck)
1* monster reborn
1* dark hole
3* ancient city: rainbow ruins (these are an absolute must)
I used to run a terraforming, but I usually get teh rainbow ruins pretty early anyway, so I cut it from the deck
Trap
1* crystal pair
1* rainbow path
Extra
1* blues eyes ultamite dragon
Crystal beasts are a very underused deck type, which is a shame in general, but a blessing for us that use it. I usually end games at most 10 turns in, my record being 18 against a stall deck. While draw power is important, remeber, never use pot of avarice, or the pots in general. Scapegoat doesn't mesh well for obvious reasons. One my freinds once made a deck similar to this, except it had 15 dark world's side decked, and 3 lighting vortex's mained. It was pretty awesome. If you can get a hold of the cards for this deck, it works suprisingly well.
