This is my Yu-Gi-Oh! story which I wrote. All the characters are fictional, that means they don't actually exist. I hope you enjoy it!

Chapter 1


Sarah: Oh, finally this day is here. Day, when I go to learn Duel Monsters in Domino City Duel Academy. I’m so excited.
Grandmother: Hey, Sarah dear, hurry up! You don’t want to miss your plane do you?
Sarah: Coming!
My name is Sarah. I’m 16 year old girl, who is going to learn at Domino City Duel Academy. I have long, chestnut hair, green eyes and clear head. I always wanted to learn about Duel Monsters and now I’ve got a chance do so. Since I’m a complete beginner and I don’t even have my own deck, I’m going to be placed in Slifer Red Dorm. But I don’t mind, because I’ll finally be able to fell how it is duel.
I’m living with my grandparents because my parents left me when I was still a baby. Grandmother didn’t want that her grandchild becomes an orphan and that is why she took me in. At the beginning my grandfather didn’t want me and he tough of me as a troublesome child. But somehow his heart melted and he loved me just as much as my grandmother did.
I was on my way to airport with my grandfather and I felt really excited. When we arrived grandfather had a sad look on his face, but the he smiled.
Grandfather: I would have never tought that you will grow up so fast. It seems as if just yesterday you were a little, toothless, giggling girl.
Sarah: Granpaaaa! Please, you’re gonna make me cry.
Grandfather: Anyway, please be careful and you know that you can come back anytime.
Sarah: Thank you! Bye, granpa!
I quickly run to my plane, because I didn’t want to cry. I found my seat and sat down, waiting when will plane start flight.
After few hours I finally reached Domino City. It was beautiful! There were a lot of big impressive buildings, but there were also beautiful green parks and a river.
Sarah: I guess this is my new home from now on. Now then where is the Academy?!
I looked at the map and started walking towards the Academy. After about half an hour I finally reached it. It was giant building which was surrounded by trees and other, smaller buildings. I quickly made my way in. Sudenlly a man with a weird haircut appeared out of nowhere.
Sarah: Ahhh!
Man with weird haircut: Sorry, did I scare you. I didn’t mean to.
Sarah: No, it’s okay. “sweatdrop”
Aurelious: My name is Aurelious and I’m a teacher at this school. Are you a new student?
Sarah: Yes, that’s right. My name is Sarah.
Aurelious: Oh, I know you. You’re that girl that doesn’t know anything about duel monsters yet.
Sarah: I guess, that would be me. “sweatdrop”
Aurelious: Oh don’t worry, we all were newbies sometime. That’s why you’re here. To learn. Anyway, I’m going to show you your room now.
Sarah: Okay.
We walked for 5 minutes when we finally arrived at red house. School campus was bigger then I imagined. The Slifer dorm didn’t look too charming, but it wasn’t bad either.
Aurelious: This is your new home – Slifer Red Dorm.
Sarah: It seems nice.
Aurelious: It is nice. Not as luxurious as other dorms, but it’s still good. Come on, I’ll show you inside.
Aurelious showed me whole dorm. Kitchen, 1st floor, 2nd floor, 3rd floor and of course my room. It was small, but nice and warm.
Aurelious: Well, I won’t bother you. Unpack your things and make yourself at home. Tomorrow at 10 o’clock go to main hall to meet your homeroom teacher.
Sarah: Okay. By the way, why is Academy so empty. All this time I only saw few teachers?
Aurelious: Well, the students are still on summer holiday.
Sarah: Then why am I here?
Aurelious: Because you still know nothing of Duel Monsters. We need to teach you so that at beginning of the year you would have your own deck.
Sarah: Oh, I see! “sweatdrop”
Aurelious: Well, enjoy your stay here, Sarah.
Sarah: Thank you! I will.
I started to unpack my things when I heard some noises outside the dorm. Out of curiosity I went out to see what it was. I saw three guy laughting and splashing water at each other. One was quite tall, he had black, spiky hair and blue eyes. Other was bit shorter than black-haired guy, he had short hair that seemed to be in the color of flames and grey eyes. The last was shorter than flame-haired one, he had short, brown hair and green eyes. Sudenlly a cold water stream in my face brought me back to reality.
Flame-haired guy: Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t mean to hit you.
Sarah: It’s okay just don’t that again.
Flame-haired guy: Okay. Are you new here?
Sarah: Yes, indeed I am. My name is Sarah.
Flame-haired guy: It’s nice to meet you. I’m Kai.
Black-haired guy: I’m Eon.
Brown-haired guy: And I’m Jake.
Sarah: It’s nice to meet you all. But why are you in school on summer holiday?
Kai: Because we like it here. There isn’t such a rule that says that we can’t stay in Academy during summer holiday. But why are you here?
Sarah: Um, well, because I don’t really know how to play yet, so teachers are going to teach me the basics before school starts.
Kai: I see.
Jake: When you learn how to play, you must have a duel with us all.
Sarah: Of course! But now I’m going to unpack my things.
Kai: Okay then, see you later!
Sarah: See ya!
I went back to my room and continued unpacking my things. When I was done I took a quick shower and went to bed. A lot of things happened today. I can’t wait for tomorrow.
Next morning came quickly. I dressed up and went to Main Hall to meet my homeroom teacher. I saw a young woman with short, black hair and glasses. She didn’t seem to be much taller than me. When she noticed me she smiled and greeted me.
Young woman: You must be Sarah, right?
Sarah: That’s me!
Young woman: Well it’s nice to meet you. My name is Lily and I’m your homeroom teacher.
Sarah: It’s nice to meet you too.
Lily: So are ready to learn about Duel Monsters?
Sarah: I think I am.
Lily teached me all the basics and main rules of the game. I have to say that was really fun and the game seemed really interesting. I listened to every word that Lily said. When she finished it was already 5pm.
Lily: Time sure flies by fast. Well it seems that you already understand the main goal of the game.
Sarah: Yeah, I do. I have to say that I have read the rules before.
Lily: That’s good. Then tomorrow we are going to make you a deck.
Sarah: What?! Already?
Lily: Of course, there is no need to waste time. You understand the rules and that’s all you need. Meet me tomorrow in Main Hall at 12 o’clock.
Sarah: Okay.
I was so excited that I just jumped from joy all the way to dorm. On way to my room I met Eon.
Sarah: Oh, hi, Eon.
Eon: Hi, why so excited?
Sarah: I’m getting my deck tomorrow.
Eon: Oh, that’s cool. What kind of deck will you have then?
Sarah: I…. I don’t know.
Eon: Oh, I see. Well I suggest you to choose deck that you like the most.
Sarah: What do you mean by that?
Eon: Okay, then what kind of monsters do you like? Warriors, beasts, fairies?
Sarah: Oh, that’s what you mean. I guess I like dragons the best.
Eon: Then make a dragon deck.
Sarah: Hmm. I think I will. Thank you, Eon!
Eon: Your welcome!
I went back to my room excited. Dragon Deck seemed like a good idea. I don’t even know why I liked dragons so much. Maybe it’s because they are strong and fearless and that’s how I want to be. Soon I fell asleep and I had a weird dream.
I was surrounded in flames with no one around me. Flames were getting closer to me by every second and one moment I seemed that I will burn. But suddenly fire disappeared. It was really quiet. Then I heard a sound that seemed like flap of wings. A strong wind breeze pushed me down to ground and I heard a terrible roar. When I looked up I saw……. a dragon. It was black and red with three horns on it’s head. Dragon seemed like it has come straight from hell. But I wasn’t afraid, it was opposite, I liked that dragon.
Then heard the alarm clock and the image of dragon disappeared.
Sarah: What was that dragon?
I quickly dressup and went to see teacher Lily. All the way to school I couldn’t stop thinking about that dragon. Did it want to tell me something? Did it want to warn me of some kind of danger? I don’t know.
As I went into Main Hall I saw Lily awaiting me just as yesterday.
Lily: Well are you ready to choose your deck.
Sarah: Yes. I think I already know what I want.
Lily: And what do you want?
Sarah: Dragon Deck.
Lily: Oh, that’s a nice choice. Dragon’s are quite strong. Well then let’s go and buy you cards. Of course, I help put your deck together.
We went to card shop that was located not far from Academy and after that me and Lily spent all day putting deck together. In the end deck turned out to be great. At least that’s what I think. After the hard day I spent all evening studying my cards. I really liked them. Dragon’s looked really cool and they had nice effects. Lily said that I was lucky, because I got some quite rare cards, like Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and White Night Dragon.
When I went to sleep I saw the same dream as yesterday. After I woke up I couldn’t stop thinking about that dragon. Then a knock to my door brought me back from my dream.
Kai: Come on out, Sarah. I heard from Lily that you have a deck now, so come and duel me!

Well, in the Yugioh Card Maker Forums, some people write foe fics. These are reviews of the most terrible fan fictions in the internet. Started by Crab Helmet, one of the trollish Moderators of the forum, the custom is now widespread through the forum.
And given I originate from there, I see no reason why I shouldn't do it here as well.

Chapter 1


Sarah: Oh, finally this day is here. Day, when I go to learn Duel Monsters in Domino City Duel Academy. I’m so excited.
Grandmother: Hey, Sarah dear, hurry up! You don’t want to miss your plane do you?
Sarah: Coming!
Wait, what?
I mean, what?
This is basically a script. A script, not a story. I mean, do you open Harry Potter and have it like:
Harry: Expelliarmus!
Voldemort: Avada Kedavra!
Because at least, in my country it isn't so.
What abhorrs me even more is the part that says this is going to be a Duel Academy fan fic. I mean, I know a lot of fan fics, given my normal forum is full of them, but a Duel Academy one? That basically means it's going to be really, really pointless. As it happens, even GX itself sucked. A Duel Academy story the professional anime writeres attempted turned out as the worst series in all of Yugioh. That means a normal kid can't be any better at it, unless he tries to like, um...blow up the academy or something. Wait, that just gave me an idea for what to write next.

Suddenly the script turns into a random piece of introduction. And well, introductions aren't the way to start stories unless they're really, really unique (Ex. Cirque Du Freak), or it's so old no one cares as in Robinson Crusoe, which despite being so is a masterpiece. Unfortunately it seems you forgot that, because this is the lamest intro ever. I'm not sure what's burning my eyes, this forum's black format or this story.

You quickly run? Don't you mean ran? I mean, are you telling me that despite all these years kids don't use Microsoft Word to check grammar errors? And well, you don't really run to the plane, you walk through a weird tunnel that directs you into the aircraft. Unless this "my plane" is really yours, because your grandpa is secretly the head of a company, and you had a personal jet since five.
After few hours I finally reached Domino City. It was beautiful! There were a lot of big impressive buildings, but there were also beautiful green parks and a river.
Impressive detailing! The spectacular and perfect use of the most wonderful adjectives such as "big" and "beautiful" amaze me from heart. The fact you intentionally left out the river undescribed sucessfully creates an extremely vague image in my head.
Sarah: I guess this is my new home from now on. Now then where is the Academy?!

Well, this isn't really that abnormal in the world of yugioh. 90% of main characters have disgusting haircuts, some even evading gravity, so the haircut part is fine except OMG HE APPEARED OUTTA NOWHERE AHHHHH RUN 4 UR LIFE
Sarah: Ahhh!
Yeah, I'd be like that too.
Man with weird haircut: Sorry, did I scare you. I didn’t mean to.

Wait, Aerelious? What sorta name is that? And I thought normal schools will have every student assemble on the first day. Well, obviously schools about childrens' card games are different, as shown here.
Sarah: Yes, that’s right. My name is Sarah.

This Aurelious is quite a terrible teacher. Why does he want to say negative stuff upon his students? Is he simply sadist?

Well, gonna stop here. One thing I can say: work. This is terrible even from YCM standards. Dunno what level this forum is, but if this is average it's done for.

Here's chapter 2. If you don't like it then don't read it. I'm writing it just for fun. I apoligize for grammar mistakes, English isn't my native language.

Chapter 2

I quickly grabbed my deck and duel disk and ran outside. I saw Kai, Jake and Eon standing there and waiting for me.
Sarah: Hey, guys!
Kai, Jake, Eon: Hi, Sarah!
Kai: Are you ready to duel me?
Sarah: You know that have never dueled before, right?
Kai: Well, there comes first time for everything! “grins”
Sarah: I guess so. Well then, Let’s Duel!
We all went outside. Jake and Eon stood aside ready to watch the duel. Kai seemed really excited about all this.
Kai: Well, since you’re a beginner I’ll let you go first.
Sarah: That’s only fair.
Jake: Go, Sarah! You can win against that guy.
Sarah: Of course, I can. And now….
Sarah, Kai: Let’s Duel!
Sarah: My turn. Draw! I summon Red-Eyes Wyvern in attack position. Then I set two cards face-down and end my turn.
Kai: It’s my turn. Draw! I summon tuner monster Blackwing – Breeze The Zephyr in attack position. Next I activate Blackwing – Bora The Spear effect from my hand. If I control a Blackwing monster then I can special summon this monster from my hand.
Sarah: Could it be? Synchro Summon?
Kai: You bet! Now I tune level 3 Blackwing – Breeze The Zephyr with level 4 Blackwing – Bora The Spear to Synchro Summon….. Blackwing Armor Master.
Sarah: Amazing! Synchro summon in first turn.
Kai: Don’t be amazed yet, I can do much more!
Jake: Oh, no! Now he’ll start to brag.
Kai: Hey, I don’t brag.
Eon: Of course, not! “sweatdrop”
Kai: Okay, now back to duel. Blackwing Armor Master attack Red-eyes Wyvern.
Sarah: Don’t think that I’m going to lose that easy. I activate trap Dimensional Prison. It removes from play the attacking monster which in this case is Blackwing Armor Master.
Kai: Dammit. This might turn out to be an interesting duel. I’ll set two cards face-down and end my turn.
Sarah: My turn. Draw! I summon tuner monster Magna Draco in attack position. You Kai aren’t only one that can Synchro Summon! I tune level 2 Magna Draco with level 4 Red-eyes Wyvern to Synchro Summon….. Brionac, Dragon of the Ice Barrier. Now I activate Brionac’s effect. I can discard any number of cards to grave to return cards on field to their owners hand equal to number of cards discarded.
Kai: I don’t believe that this is your first time playing.
Sarah: You better believe it. Now I discard Dread Dragon to grave and destroy your set card on the left.
The set card appears to be Blackback. It allows to summon Blackwing monster with 2000 or less attack from grave. I’m in luck. It would be troublesome if he could Synchro Summon again.
Sarah: Okay, then. Brionac attack Kai directly!
Kai: Not so fast. I activate Blackwing – Ghibli The Searing Wind effect from my hand. If I’m attacked directly I can Special Summon this card from my hand. I summon Blackwing – Ghibli The Searing Wind in defense position.
Sarah: That won’t stop me. Brionac attack Ghibli The Searing Wind.
Blackwing – Ghibli The Searing Wind is destroyed and sent to graveyard. Kai doesn’t take any damage since it was in defense poison.
Kai: And now activate trap….
Sarah: What?
Kai: Black Thunder. When a Blackwing monster is destroyed and sent to grave I can inflict 400 damage for each card you control. You have two cards, that means you take 800 damage.
Sarah’s life points drop from 4000 to 3200.
Sarah: I end my turn.
Kai: It’s my turn. Draw! I activate Spell card from my hand Pot of Greed. It allows me to draw two cards. Next I activate another spell Monster Reborn. It allows me to Special Summon monster from grave. I Special summon Blackwing – Bora The Spear. Now activate Blackwing – Gale The Whirlwind effect from my hand. If I control Blackwing monster then I can Special Summon it from my hand. Now come Blackwing – Gale The Whirlwind.
Sarah: This can’t be good.
Kai: Well, it’s not. Not for you. “grins” Now I activate Gale The Whirlwind other effect.
Sarah: What? There’s more?!
Kai: Of course! Once per turn I can halve attack of one of your face-up monsters. That means that Brionac’s attack drops from 2300 to 1150. Now Gale The Whirlwind attacks Brionac.
Brionac is destroyed and Sarah’s life points drops from 3200 to 3050.
Kai: Bora The Spear attack Sarah directly!
Sarah’s life points drop from 3050 to 1350.
Kai: Now I tune level 4 Blackwing – Gale The Whirlwind with level 3 Blackwing – Gale The Whirlwind to Synchro summon…… Blackwing Armor Master. I end my turn. This might be easier than I tough.
Sarah: Don’t get cocky. I’m haven’t even started yet. My turn. Draw!
Jake: That’s the spirit Sarah. Don’t give up!
Sarah: I summon Stardust Xiolong in Defense position and end my turn.
This isn’t good. I don’t have any cards in my hand that could help me right now and I don’t want to use my set card yet. I hope that Stardust Xiaolong will hold defense until next turn.
Kai: Hmm. My turn. I draw. Blackwing Armor Master attack Stardust Xiaolong!
Sarah: I activate Xiaolong effect. Once per turn if it would be destroyed it is not.
Kai: You seem quite desperate. Well, I’ll set a card and end my turn.
Sarah: Grr. My turn. Draw! “sniker” You’re finished! I remove Stardust Xiaolong from play to Special summon Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.
Kai: What? That card is really rare.
Sarah: Newbies luck! Now I activate Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon’s effect. Once per turn I can Special summon Dragon-type monster from my hand or graveyard. I Special summon Red-eyes Wyvern from my grave in attack position. Next I summon tuner monster Delta Flyer in Attack position.
Kai: Wow! That’s amazing! 3 monster summoned in one turn.
Sarah: But that’s not all. I tune level 3 Delta Flyer with level 4 Red-eyes Wyvern to Synchro Summon…… Exploder Dragonwing! Now Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon attacks Blackwing Armor Master.
Kai: It’s a shame that none of these monsters can help you now. I activate trap Mirror Force. It destroys all attack position monsters on your side of field.
Sarah: What? No fair. I end my turn.
Kai: Ha ha. It’s my turn. Draw. Now it’s time to end this! Blackwing Armor Master attack directly.
Sarah: Not so fast! I activate trap Call of The Haunted. It allows me to Special summon monster from my grave.
Kai: Sorry, Sarah, but I can’t let you do that. I activate quick-play spell Mystical Space Typhoon. It allows me to destroy one spell or trap card on field. I choose Call of The Haunted.
Sarah: No!
Kai: Yes! Now, Blackwing Armor Master attack!
Sarah’s life points drop to 0.
Sarah: I lost!
Kai: That was an amazing duel, Sarah! You’re a newbie, but you play really well. If you continue dueling like this, soon you’ll beat even again King of Duels.
Jake: Yeah, Kai is right. You’re amazing.
Eon: A bit of training and you’ll be the best.
Sarah: Thank you, guys.
Kai: Your welcome! By the way, what time is it? I’m hungry.
I heard a loud growl come from my stomach.
Sarah: I guess I’m hungry too. “slight blush”
Jake: Well it’s already afternoon. Let’s go to cafeteria and eat.
Kai: Okay, let’s go! “points at direction where cafeteria is”
Sarah, Jake, Eon: Umm….yeah! “sweatdrop”
We all were eating at cafeteria that was now empty. Kai ate 3 portions of food. I wonder how he didn’t explode. Later on our way back to dorm Kai couldn’t stop talking about his duels. At beginning it was interesting but soon me, Jake and Eon became bored. I decided to leave Kai and his stories to Eon and Jake, and went back to my room. It was evening and sun has already started to set.
Sarah: Maybe I should take a walk around forest.
I got some warm jacket, and went to forest near Academy. It was really peaceful and beautiful there. I could hear birds singing different songs. This was perfect place for evening walks. Suddenly I heard a voice shouting.
Unknown voice: I wil NEVER lose to you, King of Duels!
Another voice: You have already lost!
I glanced from behind of tree to see who was talking. I saw one guy down on knees. He seemed really angry and frustrated. Across him was standing a tall guy with short black and purple eyes. He seemed strong and really confident. I have to admit that he was really handsome.
Confident guy: I don’t have time for likes of you. Go find yourself a doll to play with.
He was really mean. I guess that guy on the ground lost a duel, but that doesn’t mean that he could be such a jerk. Confident guy walked away not caring about what happens to other guy. I guess I should be heading back to dorm. But I wonder why were these guys here. It’s still summer holiday.
When I got back to my room it was already dark outside. I quickly took a shower and went bed. At night I was dreaming about Demon Dragon again.

Chapter 3.

[i]Remaining two weeks of summer went by quickly. Students slowly started to return to academy. I got to duel 5 Slifer Red duelist. To my surprise I won all 5 times. Kai couldn’t stop saying that one day I’ll be King …… Queen of Duels. That sounded nice, but I don’t think it’s possible.
Soon school started. Eon said that on first day we don’t need anything else expect our decks. Of course, I didn’t take anything expect my deck. I quickly washed up, dressed-up and went to school. Eon, Jake and Kai went before me, because I still need to write some papers in headmaster’s office before I start.
I quickly got to Main Building, but then I realized that I didn’t really know were headmaster’s office is. Suddenly I felt as someone bumped into me and then I heard a sound of cards falling to ground. I saw that the guy who I bumped into was the same guy that I saw dueling in forest. This time he looked much more calmer and he didn’t have that arrogant look in his face.
Unknown guy: Sorry, I about that. I’m in a hurry.
Sarah: No, it’s okay!
He quickly picked up his cards and I noticed that one of them is Elemental Hero Neos. He apologized again and ran off. I wonder what’s his name. I realized that I need to go too.
Sarah: Now, which way is headmaster’s office?
Unknown girl: Need help?
A girl that spoke to me was quite pretty, but she didn’t look like a girl that is full of herself. She was same height as me, she had long, blonde hair and brown eyes. She seemed to be quite welcoming and nice. Also, she was wearing blue jacket with short hands. That means that she is Obelisk Blue.
Sarah: Um, yes! I need to find headmaster’s office.
Unknown girl: I can show you where it is.
Sarah: Really? Thank you!
She started guiding me through hallways to headmaster’s office. She really is a nice person. I would like to be friends with her.
Unknown girl: No problem. By the way, my name is Angela.
Sarah: It’s nice to meet you. I’m Sarah.
Angela: You’re new here right?
Sarah: Yes, that’s right.
Angela: How do you like academy so far?
Sarah: It seems very fun.
Angela: That’s good to hear! How about we duel later?
Sarah: Sure, but I have to warn you that I just started.
Angela: Don’t worry, I don’t mind. Oh, here’s the headmaster’s office. Go and do what you have to do. I’ll wait.
Sarah: Thank you!
I welcomed headmaster as I walked in. He made fill in some papers and he also asked few questions. He seemed really nice and wise person. When I left his office I saw that Angela was still waiting for me.
Angela: You sure are slow!
Sarah: Sorry. Headmaster wouldn’t stop asking me question.
Angela: Don’t worry, I was just kidding! Anyway, let’s go to Big Hall now.
Sarah: Big Hall?
Angela: Yeah. That’s were most of lessons take place. Every year lessons start with a duel.
Sarah: Duel? Against who?
Angela: Computer will pick a random teacher in our school that you will duel. Anyway, we don’t have time to chit chat anymore. Let’s go!
Angela grabbed my hand and started pulling me. I didn’t resist, but next time I won’t let her do that.
Soon we arrived in Big Hall. It was huge. Almost like a football field. Angela quickly found us a seat in front and soon headmaster showed up in middle of Hall.
Headmaster: Dear students, welcome to Domino City Duel Academy! I’m happy see you all today. As every year we will start with a duel that will determinate your skill level. Each student will be assigned to teacher which they will duel. Those students that will win against teacher will get a special prize card and possibility to switch dorms!
Other students started to chat and get all excited. Hall was quickly filled with a lot of noise. This was a great chance to get into better dorm and nobody wants to waste it.
Headmaster: Quiet down! The list of duels is already made, so you all can go and check who and when are you dueling.
All students rushed towards the door and in less then a minute Big Hall was empty. I would have probably stayed there, if only Angela wasn’t pulling me towards the Board. It was obvious that she was just as excited as everyone else. Finally we broke through the crowd and looked at the duel list.
Angela: I’m dueling Lily today at 5 pm. Lucky! Who are you dueling, Sarah?
Sarah: I can’t find it. Oh! Here it is! Professor Clunk tomorrow at 1 pm.
Angela: Oh no! That’s the worst teacher ever.
Sarah: Why?
Angela: Because he hates new and weak duelists. He beats them without a hesitation. Last year he made like 6 new students quit.
Sarah: That’s awful.
Angela: It is. Please, don’t quit if he beats you.
Sarah: I never quit so don’t worry.
Angela: That’s good to hear. Be careful when you duel him.
Sarah: I will. Good luck with your duel too.
Angela: Thanks! Well, I’m going back to dorm to get ready. I will see you tomorrow.
Sarah: Okay. Bye.
I decided to go back to my dorm too. I carefully looked through my deck and tough of all possible combination I could make. In the end I came up with few new moves that will make my victory easier. It was still too early to go to sleep so I decided to take a walk in forest again.
Just like the last time it was really nice and peaceful in here. It was also quite warm so a lot of birds were playing around. I looked up to see all the colorful and beautiful birds that were singing all kinds of songs. Suddenly I fell over something. At first I tough it was a tree branch, but then I realized that it was soft, warm and said “ouch”.
Unknown guy: Watch were you’re going!
I looked and saw that it was the same guy that bumped into me this morning. He looked quite angry. I realized that we were too close and my face got bright red.
Sarah: I’m so sorry!
I quickly stood up and backed up for about a meter. When he reorganized me his expression changed.
Unknown guy: Oh, it’s you. No need to apologize. I shouldn’t sleep in middle of road. Why are you here anyway?
Sarah: I was just taking a walk to clear my head before the duel tomorrow.
Unknown guy: Oh, I see. Who are you dueling?
Sarah: Professor Clunk.
Unknown guy: Oh, that’s not the best opponent for a newbie. Do your best! I know you can win this.
How came he can say it with such confidence. He doesn’t know me at all and don’t know him either. He hasn’t even seen me duel and he probably doesn’t know that I’m a total newbie.
Sarah: Thank you! What’s your name, by the way?
Unknown guy: Oh, sorry! I forgot to introduce myself. My name is Raven.
Sarah: It’s nice to meet you! My name is….
Raven: Sarah.
Sarah: How did you know it?
Raven: It doesn’t matter. Well, see you later then!
He suddenly turned around and went away. How did he know my name? Did somebody tell him? Raven sure is mysterious guy.
When I went to sleep, I saw Demon Dragon in my dream again, but this time it looked bit sad. As if it wanted to be somewhere, but it couldn’t be there. I wonder if this dragon wants to find something or someone. I wonder if it needs my help.
Then I woke up it was already 11 am. Only two hours left till my duel begins. I got my deck and duel disk ready to make my way to Duel Arena. On my way there I met Angela.
Sarah: Hi, Angela! How did your duel with Lily go?
Angela: Hi, Sarah. Well, I lost, but it was still an amazing duel. It’s a shame you didn’t see it.
Sarah: Yeah, but there’s always next time.
Angela: That’s right. Well good luck on your duel with Professor Clunk. You’ll need it!
Sarah: Thank you! See you later!
Angela: Later!
I sat in Duel Arena for an hour and half and carefully watched duels. So far no student won against teachers, but the duels were still amazing. I really hope that I could win.
Squeaky voice: Well, well, well. Aren’t you Sarah?
I turned around and saw funny looking man. He was short with weird, long, black hair and little glasses.
Sarah: Yes, I’m Sarah! “sweatdrop”
Prof. Clunk: My name is Professor Clunk and I hope you know that we have a duel here.
Sarah: Yes, I know that.
Prof. Clunk: You seem like a nice, little girl so I’ll go easy on you. But you shouldn’t stay in this academy, because this isn’t a playground.
Sarah: Well, that’s good because I didn’t come here to play. And there’s no need to go easy on me.
Prof. Clunk: You’ll regret your own words later, but now… Let’s duel!

Chapter 4

Me and Professor Clunk got on field, both ready to duel. I noticed that few students gathered around to look at duel.
Prof. Clunk: Let’s not waste more time!
Sarah: Let’s duel.
Prof. Clunk: I let you start first. Don’t worry I’m going to beat you fast.
Sarah: We’ll see that. Draw! I summon Stardust Xiaolong in Defense position.
Prof. Clunk: You call that a monster?! It has mere 100 attack points.
Sarah: That’s true, but Stardust Xiaolong has a nice effect. Once per turn if it would be destroyed it is not. I set one card face-down and end my turn.
Prof. Clunk: You think that cheap trick will stop me?! I activate Cyber Dragon effect. If my opponent has a monster on field, but I don’t then I can Special Summon it from my hand. Next, I summon Machina Sniper in attack position. Now both Cyber Dragon and Machina Sniper attack Stardust Xiaolong.
Stardust Xialong is destroyed.
Prof. Clunk: I set two cards face-down and end my turn.
Sarah: My turn! Draw! I activate spell card Hammer Shot. It destroys monster with highest attack on field. That means Cyber Dragon is destroyed.
Prof. Clunk: I don’t think so! I activate trap Magic Jammer.
Hammer Shot is destroyed.
Sarah: I summon Blizzard Dragon in attack position. I activate Blizzard Dragon’s effect. Once per turn I can select a monster on your side of the field. That monster can’t attack or change battle position until end of your next turn.
Prof. Clunk: You think you can win like that?!
Sarah: No, but I can buy time like that. I set one card face-down and end my turn.
Prof. Clunk: My turn. Draw! I summon Cyber Dragon Zwei in Attack position. Now I will send Cyber Dragon, Machina Sniper and Cyber Dragon to graveyard to Fusion Summon Chimeratech Fortress Dragon in attack position.
Sarah: Fusion summon without spell card?! Is that possible?!
Prof. Clunk: It is! Chimeratech Fortress Dragon’s attack is equal to fusion material monsters used multiplied by 1000. I used three monsters that means Chimeratech Fortress Dragon’s attack is 3000. Now Chimeratech attack Blizzard Dragon!
Blizzard Dragon is destroyed and Sarah’s life points drop from 4000 to 2800.
Prof. Clunk: You are never going to win like this. Ha ha ha! I end my turn.
Sarah: I…. I won’t give up! It’s my turn! Draw!
Perfect! With this I have chance to win.
Sarah: I summon Magna Draco in attack position. Next I activate Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon effect. I can remove from play a dragon-type monster to Special Summon this monster. I remove Magna Draco from play and special summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon from my hand.
Prof. Clunk: This is better, but it still hasn’t enough attack to destroyed Chimeratech.
Sarah: That’s true. “sweatdrop” I end my turn.
Prof. Clunk: I would give up if I were you! You have no chance of winning.
Sarah: I never give up!
Prof. Clunk: We’ll see that. My turn. Draw! I summon Cyber Falcon in Attack position. Chimeratech attack that Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon.
Red-eyes Darkness Metal Dragon is destroyed. Sarah’s life points drop from 2800 to 2600.
Prof. Clunk: Now Cyber Falcon attack that little girl directly!
Sarah’s life points drop from 2600 to 1200.
Prof. Clunk: Ready to give up yet?
Sarah: No, I will not give up!
Prof. Clunk: You’re in no position to win now! But well I guess I could show you something really scary. I end my turn.
Sarah: My turn. Draw!
Yes, just what I need!
Sarah: I activate Dark Hole! This card destroys all monsters on field.
Chimeratech Fortress Dragon and Cyber Falcon are destroyed.
Prof. Clunk: You can use tricks like that all you want, but you still won’t win!
Sarah: I summon Dread Dragon in Defense position and end my turn!
Prof. Clunk: Is that all you can do! Pathetic! My turn! Draw! I activate spell Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy set card Number 1.
Dark Bribe is destroyed.
Prof. Clunk: I activate spell card Ancient Rules. It allows me to summon level 5 or higher Normal Monster from my hand. I summon Cosmo Queen. Cosmo Queen attack Dread Dragon.
Dread dragon is destroyed.
Sarah: I activate Dread dragon’s effect. When it is destroyed by battle and sent to graveyard, I can add one level 3 or lower dragon-type monster from deck to my hand. I add Delta Flyer.
Prof. Clunk: That won’t save you! You are going to lose! I end my turn! Ha ha ha!
He is right. I don’t have a monster that could actually win against Cosmo Queen. Maybe I should admit defeat.
Prof. Clunk: You seem to be hesitating. Giving up after all!
Sarah: I…. I….
Raven: Don’t give up, Sarah!
I looked and saw that Raven was watching our duel. He seemed confident about his words.
Raven: I know you can win this. You just have to believe in yourself.
Sarah: Yes… You are right! I won’t give up! Never! My turn. DRAW! That’s it you are going down.
Prof. Clunk: As if you could actually win in situation like this!
Sarah: Oh I can! I activate my trap Call of The Haunted. It allows me to Special Summon a monster from my grave. I summon Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon in attack position. Next I summon Delta Flyer in attack position. And I activate Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon effect.
Prof. Clunk: Activate all effects you want. You can’t actually beat my Cosmo Queen
Sarah: I think I can. Thanks to Red-Eyes effect once per turn I can special summon one dragon-type monster from my hand or grave. I special summon White Night Dragon from my hand.
Prof. Clunk: I don’t think so I activate trap Raigeki Break. By discarding one card I can destroy one card on field. I choose White Night Dragon.
Sarah: I’m sorry but that won’t work. I activate White Night Dragon’s effect. I can negate activation of spell and trap card and destroy it!
Prof. Clunk: No, this cannot be happening.
Sarah: Yes, it can. White Night Dragon attack Cosmo Queen.
Cosmo Queen is destroyed and Professor Clunk’s life points drop from 4000 to 3900.
Sarah: Now, Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Delta Flyer attack Professor Clunk directly.
Prof. Clunk: NOOOOOOOOOO!
Professor Clunk’s life points drop to 0.
Students: Amazing! She actually won against Professor Clunk. She must be really skilled.
Raven walked up to me and patted my head. A little blush showed up in my face!
Raven: I knew you could do it!
Sarah: Thanks!
Suddenly a terrible roar came out of nowhere and I felt deep pain in my head.
Raven: Sarah, what’s wrong?
Sarah: This terrible roar is hurting my head!
Raven: What roar? I don’t hear anything.
Sarah: How can you not hear it. It’s really loud. AHHH!
Raven: Sarah, pull yourself together! Sarah!
After that everything turned black and I lost my consciousness.

Chapter 5


When I woke up, I was in my bed. I saw Eon, Jake, Kai and Angelica in my room. I slowly sat up when I felt sudden pain run through my head and body.
Sarah: Ouch!
Kai: Easy there! You are not ready to stand up yet!
Sarah: What happened?
Angelica: That’s what we would like to know! We were just walking around academy campus when we saw Raven carrying you! Imagine it, King of Duels himself carried you to your room, when he doesn’t even talk to anyone else!
Sarah: Raven carried me here? WAIT! He is the King of Duels! Au, my head!
Jake: You mean you didn’t know it?
Eon: Guys, easy there! She is new here remember?!
Jake: Oh, yeah! I forgot.
Angelica: Anyway, what exactly happened in that duel against Professor Clunk?
Sarah: I remember that I won and after that I heard a terrible roar in my head….
Kai: WAIT! You won against Clunk. Amazing!
Sarah: Please, not so loud. My head still hurts.
Kai: Sorry about that. But if you could beat Clunk then you could even beat Mister King of Duels.
Sarah: You mean Raven? No way! If….
A sudden knock to my door stopped my sentence and everyone looked at door expecting someone to come in. Door opened and Headmaster came into my room.
Headmaster: Hello, kids!
Kai: Oh, hi Headmaster. What are you doing here?
Headmaster: I came to check on Sarah. I heard that she won against Professor Clunk and collapsed soon after duel ended.
Sarah: Yes, that’s right!
Headmaster: Could you, kids, leave me and Sarah alone.
Angelica: Sure! Get well soon, Sarah!
Kai, Jake, Eon: Get well!
After they left, Headmaster sat down at edge of my bed.
Headmaster: How are you feeling, Sarah?
Sarah: Thank you, I’m feeling better now.
Headmaster: Well, I came here to give you this.
He gave me a white envelope with a card inside it.
Sarah: What is this?
Headmaster: This is prize for winning that duel. I can’t let you switch dorms since you don’t have enough experience in duels, but I can give you this.
Sarah: This?
Headmaster: Yes. It’s a very rare and very powerful monster card. I wouldn’t give this card to anyone, but I can see that you have potential and that you can use this card right.
I opened the envelope and my heart stopped beating when I saw a dragon from my dreams.
Headmaster: There is a legend about this dragon. He was born from hell’s fire. Nobody could tame him, because he was too strong, fierce and uncontrollable. It’s said that dragon himself will choose his owner. Till now this dragon hasn’t even considered anyone as his owner. I was given this dragon to keep him save from those who wanted his power. But today he chose his owner. After duel you heard a roar in your head right?
Sarah: Yes..
Headmaster: It was him calling to you! You are now rightful owner of Red Dragon Archfiend.
Sarah: I… I can’t believe this. He is exactly like from my dreams..
Headmaster: Dreams?
Sarah: Yes, for past week I have seen Red Dragon Archfiend in my dreams.
Headmaster: Then it really destined that this monster card is yours. Well, you must be still tired. I won’t bother you anymore. If you have any questions you can always come to me.
Sarah: Thank you!
Headmaster left with a big smile on his face. He must be happy that Red Dragon Archfiend now has an owner. I looked down to the card that I’ve seen in my dreams. Dragon looked perfect. It was strong and fierce and now all mine. This dragon is a major power-up for my deck! I put Red Dragon Archfiend in my deck and went to sleep. I was still pretty dizzy after all that happened.
I woke up only after few hours and it was evening already. Everything seemed peaceful, even students were unusually quiet. They are probably tired after all duels with teachers. Knock to my door broke the silence around.
Sarah: Yes, come in!
Door slowly opened and Raven walked in. His expression was calm and it was impossible to tell what was he thinking at the moment.
Sarah: Raven?!
Raven: Hey, I came to check if you are alright. You seemed to be in pain earlier.
Sarah: Oh, don’t worry, I’m completely fine now. But you carried me all the way here right?! Thank you!
Raven: It’s no problem.
He showed a little smile and came to sit at the edge of my bed just like Headmaster before.
Raven: You seem quite pale. Are you really alright?
Raven leaned bit closer to my face and it made me feel bit embarrassed. My face flushed red. He chuckled and I was quite surprised that he could show his emotions like that. He really seemed like a guy that doesn’t smile or laugh much.
Raven: I take that back, you’re not pale at all. I’m glad to see that you are alright. But what exactly happened that made you faint so suddenly.
Sarah: It was dragon’s roar in my head.
Raven: Dragon’s roar?
Sarah: Yeah. Headmaster said that he was calling to me. Later Headmaster came and gave me that dragon card.
Raven: Oh, so I guess it’s your ace now.
Raven stood up and headed for exit without a noise.
Raven: I can’t wait to meet that dragon of yours in duel. How about we duel tomorrow after lessons in front of this dorm?
Sarah: Sure, if you really are okay with dueling a newbie like me?
Raven: I wouldn’t even pay any attention to you if I wouldn’t want to duel you. See you tomorrow then.
I wonder if I can win in a duel against Raven. He is the King of Duels after all. Well, I’ll just do my best and if I can’t win then I’m going to give Raven the most challenging duel of his life. I took a look at my new dragon and new strength filled my veins.
Sarah: With Red Dragon Archfiend, I’m sure that I can win!

Chapter 6

Next day I woke up early because of my duel with Raven. I don’t know why I was really nervous, so I just walked around in circles to calm myself down a bit. Unfortunately it didn’t work and I got even more nervous.
Kai: Hey, Sarah! Are you in there?
Sarah: Ah! Yeah, come in!
Kai: Hi! Wow! You seems quite stressed out!
Sarah: What? NO! I’m not stressed at all! I’m fine!
I tried to show him a smile to make my words seem true, but instead I ended up showing a totally weird face!
Kai: Phhh, ha ha ha! What’s with that face?! What happened?
Sarah: I’m just really nervous before duel!
Kai: Oh, but you have dueled before and you never seemed so nervous! Who are you dueling?
Sarah: Raven.
Kai: What?! You’re dueling King! How? I challenged him many times but he never agreed to duel me!
Sarah: Actually, he is the one who asked for duel.
Kai: What?! That’s even more impossible! Are you sure it was him?
Sarah: Of course, I’m sure! I’m not an idiot!
Kai: Sorry, it just seems impossible to Raven to challenge someone to duel. He only duels when he has to. When and where are you dueling?
Sarah: After lessons end in front of dorm.
Kai: Okay then I’ll come to cheer you on!
Sarah: Thanks!
When I went to lessons I was distracted and didn’t listen to what teachers where saying. It’s probably nothing important anyway.
When lessons ended I became even more nervous, so I was almost running on my way back to dorm!
Kai: Sarah, wait up!
Sarah: Kai! Hey, what’s up?
Kai: Listen, I asked few obelisks and they said that Raven is using Elemental Hero Deck.
Sarah: Elemental Hero?! That would make sense. That time I saw Elemental Hero Neos.
As far as I know Elemental Hero deck is based on fusion monsters! If he can’t fusion summon then he can’t summon his ace monsters.
Kai: That time?
Sarah: Nevermind! It’s nothing important! Let’s go to dorm!
Kai: Okay!
Me and Kai at beginning walked normally, but in the end we both got impatient and started running. When we got there, Raven was already standing in front of dorm waiting for me. He looked at me and smiled a little, but when he saw Kai next to me his smile disappeared.
Raven: Are you ready to duel, Sarah?
Sarah: Yes! I am!
Raven: Then…
Raven, Sarah: Let’s Duel!
Raven: You can go first, Sarah!
Sarah: I draw! I summon Masked Dragon in defense position, set two cards face-down and end my turn!
Raven: My turn! Draw! I summon Quillbolt Hedgehog in Defense position!
Kai: Quillbolt Hedgehog?! Weren’t you using Elemental Hero Deck?
Raven: Indeed I was, but Elemental Hero isn’t my main deck! Sarah will be doing her best so it’s only fair that I do my best too!
He is using this deck because of me! A slight blush hit my face. I wonder why is he being so nice to me?
Raven: I set two cards face-down and end my turn!
Sarah: My turn! Draw! I summon tuner monster Delta Flyer in Attack position! Next I activate Delta Flyer’s effect. Once per turn I can increase one of my monsters level by 1. I increase Masked Dragon’s level to level 4. Now I activate spell Stamping destruction. With it’s help if I have a dragon-type monster on my field, I can destroy one spell or trap card on field and inflict 500 damage to it’s controller. I choose your set card on the right!
Set card appears to be Tuner’s Scheme! With it’s help Raven could take control of my Synchro monster! Raven’s life points reduce to 3500.
Across field I see a gentle smile appear on Raven’s lips. I wonder what is he thinking?
Sarah: I tune level 3 Delta Flyer with level 4 Masked Dragon to Synchro Summon – Exploder Dragonwing. Exploder Dragonwing attack Quillbolt Hedgehog!
Quillbolt Hadgehog is destroyed and sent to graveyard!
Sarah: I end my turn!
Raven: My turn! Draw! I activate Quickdraw Synchron effect from my hand. I can send one monster card to graveyard to Special Summon this monster. I sent Level Eater to graveyard to Special Summon tuner monster Quickdraw Synchron in Attack position. Next I activate Quillbolt Hedgehog effect! If I control a tuner monster I can Special Summon it from my graveyard.
Kai: Wow! That guy is really good!
Other students: Yeah! He is the King after all!
I looked around and saw that students from different dorms have come to see our duel. It made me bit uneasy! Raven noticed that!
Raven: Don’t mind them Sarah! Just do your best!
Other students seem to be surprised that Raven said something like that. I decided to listen to Raven and ignore them!
Sarah: Okay!
Raven: Now I activate my trap – Dust Tornado! It allows me to destroy one your set Spell or Trap card!
Destroyed card appears to be Bottomless Trap Hole!
Raven: I summon Tuningware in Defense position. I tune level 5 Quickdraw Synchron with level 2 Quillbolt Hedgehog and level 1 Tuning ware to Synchro Summon – Junk Destroyer! I activate Tuningware’s effect. If it is sent to graveyard for Synchro Summon I can draw one card! Now I activate Junk Destroyer’s effect. When this card is Synchro Summoned I can destroy cards on field up to number of non-tuner monster used for this Sycho Summon!
Exploder Dragonwing and set card that is Mirror Force are destroyed!
Raven: Junk Destroyer attack Sarah directly!
Sarah’s life points drop from 4000 to 1400.
Sarah: I won’t give up yet!
Raven: I hope not! I end my turn.
I’m in quite bad situation right now! If I don’t get the right card now, I will lose! Please my deck answer me!

Student: Wow, that was a good combo!
Other student: Yeah, she can Synchro Summon now!
Sarah: I tune level 3 Influence Dragon with level 5 Vice Dragon! Witness as great power is fortified into single vessel, as might becomes even mightier, as I Synchro Summon my very soul – Red Dragon Archfiend!
Red Dragon Archfiend appears with big power and grace. All students are really surprised and some are even scared of dragon. Only two people stay calm – Me and Raven!
Raven: So this is your ace! I have to say that it is amazing!
Sarah: Thank you! Well, now Red Dragon Archfiend, let’s show everyone what you can do! Attack Junk Destroyer! Absolute Power Force!
Junk Destroyer is destroyed and Raven’s life points drop from 3500 to 3100.
Sarah: I end my turn!
Raven: My turn! Draw! If my opponent controls a monster and I don’t, I can Special Summon Level Warrior from my hand as level 4 monster. Next I summon Hyper Synchron in attack position!
Sarah: Synchro Summon?! I guess you have some tricks too!
Raven: Of course! I tune level 4 Hyper Synchron with level 4 Level Warrior! Clustering wishes will become a new shining star! Become the path its light shines upon. Synchro Summon, take flight, Stardust Dragon!
A beautiful white and blue dragon arises from stardust. Everyone are amazed by it’s beauty and might! Now there are two the most beautiful dragons ever seen on the field!
Raven: I activate Hyper Synchron’s effect! If Hyper Synchron is sent to grave for the Synchro Summon of Dragon-type monster, that monsters attack increase by 800. Stardust Dragon’s attack now is 3300!
Sarah: Amazing!
Raven: Stardust Dragon attack Red Dragon Archfiend!
Suddenly a throbbing pain runs through my right arm! Across the field I see that Raven feels the same pain and his arm is GLOWING RED! I looked down to my hand and saw that it was glowing too and glow was making some kind of mark that looked like wings.
All field was swept into big cloud of dust! Students ran away from duel field to take cover. I heard Raven calling to me!
Raven: SARAH!
Sarah: RAVEN!
Our dragons were about to clash at each other when a big red dragon appears almost out of nowhere and stopped Red Dragon Archfiend and Stardust Dragon from harming each other. Red Dragon let out a terrible roar and disappeared. Dust cloud slowly cleared and I could see that nobody except me and Raven are left on the field.
Pain in my hand grew bigger and before I fainted I saw that Raven was looking at me with a painful expression and calling my name!
