Well I have insomnia as well, and keeping lightds off and trying to keep quiet makes things a bit woorst for you who dont know. Insomnia is caused by the mind thinking obssesively to the point in whichis affects your sleep.
Other than the pills, there are certain excersises to go about while trying to rid of it.
But you can`t necessarily get rid of it, but yet control it.
1. Write negative thoughts on a peice of paper, and then burn it and or shred it etc... Afterwards you write positive notes and stick it under your pillow. Brings your thoughts to an ease, and stresses out your brani so ou can sleep better.
2. Also, warm mile and honey, since its a muscle relaxer, and puts your body into a easier mode to help youraelf get to sleep.
3. Do physical activities before going to bed. (Will provide aid to stressing your body muscles to the poiont of fatigueness.
4. Possible different statural positions while sleeping.
5. Take an hour of doing nothing before actually trying to sleep, meaning no reading, no internet, or anything else to pensse thoughts into your head.
6.and finally, write down everything that you think of either onto a peice of paper, or computer. This will help your trani of thought to slow down by stressing your brain to actually emit your thoughts to physical actions.
Also, never sleep by anything technilogical. (At least 3 feet away) The electro magnetic particles actually affect your sleeping by decentering your brain as in its thoughts and what not, which is why someone would think too much.
Well hope this helps, and I know this since I also have insomnia. But if you can`t fine a subtle conclucsion to the issue, than you might want to go see a psychologist since it may be caused by emotional stress going on throughout your life, or something that had happened throughout your childhood.
