kinka byo Empty
PostSubject: kinka byo   kinka byo Icon_minitimeMon Apr 26, 2010 6:26 pm

I was just randomly checking some cards on kcvds and I came across this very interesting little spirit monster
kinka byo Kinka-ByoTDGS-EN-SR-1E
Card rulings
"Kinka-Byo's" effect targets 1 Level 1 monster in your Graveyard and continues to target it while it is on the field.
Removing the Special Summoned monster from play when "Kinka-Byo" is removed from the field does not start a Chain.
When "Kinka-Byo" is flipped face-down its effect disappears. If it is flipped face-up and Special Summons another Level 1 monster, when it is removed from the field only the newly Special Summoned Level 1 monster is removed from play. The previously Special Summoned Level 1 monster remains on the field.
If you Special Summon "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" with "Kinka-Byo's" effect and the coin toss for "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" is heads, "Kinka-Byo's" effect is negated and it is destroyed. "Arcana Force 0 - The Fool" remains on the field.
This card's effect targets 1 monster in your Graveyard. Removing from play the Summoned monster does not start a chain.[1]
The effect continues to target the monster after it is Special Summoned.[2]
This is the source I used for the rulings http://yugioh.wikia.com/wiki/Card_Rulings:Kinka-byo

When you look at this card without any investigation than this seems like a realy useless card but when you look at all the possible targets of this card than you see some interesting potential
Moja: When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, you can add 1 Level 4 Beast-Type monster from your Graveyard to your hand.
a lot of beast decks run this card because it makes for a easy 2500 atk point monster
king of beasts: You can tribute 1 face-up "Moja" you control to Special Summon this card from your hand or Graveyard. There can only be 1 face-up "King of the Beasts" on the field.
So when you have moja in your graveyard and king of beasts in your graveyard or hand you can call forth your king of beast by summoning kinka byo than using its effect to summon moja and so summon king of beast by tributing it.
When your king of beasts is destroyed or send back to your hand with brionac you can simply repeat the process and you have him out again.
So kinka byo in a mojo deck will allow you to keep calling back your king of beast at the cost of your normal summon that turn (since you will need to use that to summon kinka byo)
Next are the lv 1 tuners.
If you have kinka byo in your hand and you have a lv 1 tuner in your grave than (at the cost of your normal summon that turn) you can always synchro summon with a monster you have out and a lv 1 tuner from your graveyard.
Here is a list of all the lv 1 tuners that are currently available at kcvds
Alien ammonite (so running you can run a copy of kinka byo even in a alien deck)
Blackwing vayu the emblem of honer (not recommended since it can not be used for a synchro summon if it is on the field)
Copy plant (so you can run a copy of kinka byo in a plant deck that runs copy plant on 3)
Fishborg blaster
Guard of flamvelll
Hanewata
Mind master
Sunny pixie
The white stone of legend
(in this case you would also get a free blue-eyes white dragon from your deck)
Turbo synchron
Water spirit
X-saber palomlo

But the tuner I recommend if you will build your deck completely around kinka byo is this one
Sinister sprocket: If this card is sent to the Graveyard for the Synchro Summon of a DARK Synchro Monster, you can destroy 1 face-up Spell or Trap Card.
For 2 reasons
1) it is a dark monster so you can easily get it into the graveyard
2) this cards effect to destroy a face up spell or trap card will not be used that often but it is a nice bonus
than there are 3 more targets for kinka byo that I want to pay attention to
copy cat: When this card is Summoned, select 1 monster your opponent controls. This card's ATK and DEF become equal to the selected monster's original ATK and DEF.so when you have this card in your graveyard and kinka byo in your hand you can always pay your normal summon that turn to summon copy cat and let him atk the monster who’s atk he copied
substitoad: u can Tribute 1 monster to Special Summon 1 "Frog" monster from your Deck, except "Frog the Jam". "Frog" monsters, except "Frog the Jam", cannot be destroyed by battle. When you use kinka byo to summon this card from the graveyard than you can use substitoads eff to tribute himself for any frog from your deck. So basically you pay your normal summon to call forth a frog monster from your deck (before he tributes himself he can also tribute any other monster on the field except knka byo to summon a frog from your deck)
Not only that but if you already have a substitoad out and any lv 1 monster in your graveyard (having treeborn frog in your graveyard with a frog deck is very likely) than you can use kinko the summon that monster and tribute it for substitoads effect and you have a +1 in card Adv
Fortune lady light: is card's ATK and DEF are equal to its Level x 200. During each of your Standby Phases, increase the Level of this card by 1 (max 12). When this card is removed from the field by a card effect, you can Special Summon 1 "Fortune Lady" monster from your Deck.
This will be the only case in which you will actually allow the monster that you summoned to be removed during the end phase.

So in a moja, frog, fortune lady and plant deck that runs copy plant on 3 putting one copy kinka byo in your deck is something to consider.
What I believe to be so great about this card is that it will allows you to make some good moves without losing card adv
